UDEMS Staff Notifications
Terms & Conditions
Effective August 24, 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern access to the Upper Deerfield EMS Operations Portal (UDEMS) and participation in the optional UDEMS Staff Notifications text-messaging program operated by Upper Deerfield Township Emergency Medical Services (“Upper Deerfield EMS,” “UDEMS,” “we,” or “us”).
1. Authorized portal use
UDEMS is intended for authorized Upper Deerfield EMS personnel, volunteers, administrators, and approved beta testers. Users must protect their credentials, access only information permitted by their role, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Portal access may be suspended or withdrawn when needed for security, administration, or agency operations.
2. Phase 1 demo limitations
During the Phase 1 controlled beta, UDEMS is a demonstration and workflow-testing system. It must not be used for patient names, patient narratives, medical records, electronic protected health information, final payroll determinations, or as the sole source for emergency dispatch or operational safety decisions.
3. UDEMS Staff Notifications program
Members who separately opt in may receive operational or administrative SMS messages, such as schedule and staffing notices, shift reminders, training or certification notices, missing-documentation reminders, equipment or supply notices, and other agency workforce updates.
- Message frequency varies based on schedules, operational activity, account selections, and agency needs.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- To stop messages, reply STOP. After opting out, you may receive a confirmation message.
- For assistance, reply HELP or email notification@upperdeerfieldems.org.
- To request resubscription after opting out, reply START or contact the agency.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4. No emergency or dispatch reliance
UDEMS text messages are supplemental only. They do not replace 911, CAD, radio, pager, Active911, agency policy, direct supervisor communication, or another required dispatch or emergency-notification channel. Do not use SMS replies to report an emergency. Call 911 when emergency assistance is required.
5. Consent and mobile-number responsibilities
Users must provide a mobile number they control and keep it current. SMS consent must be provided through the agency’s documented, affirmative SMS opt-in process and applies only to the described UDEMS Staff Notifications program. The SMS choice is separate from email consent, starts unchecked, and is not transferable to another person, organization, or messaging program.
6. Acceptable use
Users may not misuse the portal, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with system availability, upload malicious material, disclose another user’s confidential information without authorization, or use UDEMS messaging for advertising, personal solicitation, harassment, or unlawful purposes.
7. Availability and changes
UDEMS and its notification functions may be changed, interrupted, limited, or discontinued. Delivery timing is not guaranteed. We may update these terms to reflect operational, legal, security, or provider requirements. The effective date above will be updated when material revisions are published.
8. Privacy
Our collection and use of information, including mobile information and messaging-consent records, are described in the UDEMS Privacy Policy.
